Every year Haarlem Vinyl Festival will be shining the spotlight on some of the best albums of all time by Dutch artists. If you're a fan of The Nits, Eton Crop, Junkie XL, Void Settler, Solex, Eefje Visser, Herman Brood, Golden Earring and any one of a number of other homegrown acts, of course you'll want to hear from the artists about how they made those classic songs, what was happening in their own lives at the time, who helped them in the studio and what role technology played in creating certain tracks. HVF will be featuring a series of sessions with your favourite artists in a relaxed and intimate setting to tell those stories and also take questions from the audience.

Q&A with The Nits
In this session we take a closer look at The Nits. Nits (known until 1989 as The Nits) are a Dutch pop group founded in 1974. Their musical style has varied considerably over the years, as has their line-up with the core of Henk Hofstede (the group's lead singer and lyricist), Rob Kloet, drummer, and Robert Jan Stips (Supersister, Gruppo Sportivo, Golden Earring), keyboards. Their biggest hit in the Netherlands was "Nescio" (1983), a tribute to the Dutch author Jan Hendrik Frederik Grönloh. The major hit that brought the band to the attention of an international audience was "In the Dutch Mountains" (1987).

It's this last album that we'll focus on in this special. Menno Pot, renowned music journalist for De Volkskrant, will be moderating the session.
