The word "legend" is rarely truly deserved, but Gilles Peterson (1964) merits it. Starting on pirate radio as a teenager in London, he went on to pioneer the genre mash-up known as Acid Jazz — a sound and style still utterly unique decades later. Across his labels Talkin' Loud and Brownswood Recordings, his taste is as legendary as it is eclectic, ranging from Soul, Jazz and Funk to sounds from South America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

In this Tracklist of My Life session, Gilles takes you through the collection of vinyl records that shapes his life and career. His song choices range far and wide across continents and cultures, all tied together by his love of a fine groove and tunes that pluck at the heartstrings.
