Poetic electro folk by one of the most idiosyncratic artists in Dutch pop music.

With Spinvis, there has always been a world of difference between how the songs sound on record and how they come to life on stage. A good song can take endless forms and evolve over time—perhaps a song is never truly finished.

In 2025, the Spinvis band continued its search for new directions—sometimes getting lost, often making surprising discoveries. More acoustic, more voices. They’re not entirely sure where it’s headed yet. At times, it even feels like a kind of electro-folk. Maybe the time is right.

Call it what you like, but we couldn’t imagine a more eigenzinnig closing to the Haarlem Vinyl Festival than this self-proclaimed ramshackle circus at PHIL on Sunday evening.
