Ruud Jolie has been a fixed value as a guitarist in Within Temptation for over twenty years. The symphonic metal band is the most important Dutch export product in the field of rock music and is considered one of the standard bearers in its genre worldwide.

Like no other, Ruud Jolie knows what life on the road can mean. The successes and the accompanying fame. Performing for tens of thousands of fans on the biggest stages in the world. Going on tour with Within Temptation with renowned names like Iron Maiden and Evanescence. But also the discomforts, the uncertainties, and the stress. And of course, the inevitable and hilarious Spinal Tap incidents. 

In connection with his soon-to-be-released book In Spotlight And Shadow, Ruud Jolie tells about his experiences in Unfiltered. He does this candidly, engagingly, dryly humorous, and with the necessary perspective and self-deprecation.
