When raw talent meets seasoned expertise, sparks fly! Hiqpy and Danton Supple discuss The Art of Recording.
In this special talk, rising Amsterdam band Hiqpy sits down with legendary producer Danton Supple (Coldplay, Elbow, Amy Macdonald) to explore the emotional and technical layers behind recording music that lasts. Together, they’ll reflect on the tension between spontaneity and perfection in the studio, how production shapes identity, and why committing music to vinyl still holds power in the streaming age. Expect a mix of personal anecdotes, sonic philosophy, and insights into their own collaboration on Hiqpy’s debut recordings.
Danton Supple
Danton is a London-based record producer and mixer with nearly 40 years of experience in studio production. He has worked across a wide range of genres with numerous acclaimed artists, serving as an engineer, mixer, and producer. His credits include work on three Grammy Award-winning projects and five Grammy-nominated releases.
Hiqpy
Hiqpy burst onto the Dutch music scene in 2023 and quickly became one of the most electrifying new bands in the Netherlands. Formed by Abir Hamam (vocals/guitar), Victor ter Veld (guitar), Tom Radsma (bass), and Kasper de Boer (drums)—this quartet crafts a distinctive fusion of alt‑rock, grunge, shoegaze, lo‑fi, and indie pop. Live, they offer powerful vocals, brooding instrumentals, and intense emotional synergy—making every show feel both cinematic and visceral.
Higpy's debutalbum was released in January 2025 and they will start touring from April 2026!
