From Havana to Haarlem, DJ Jigüe traces the history of Cuban music through rare vinyl, from its golden age to today’s Afro-Cuban underground.
In this special listening session, Cuban DJ, producer and cultural entrepreneur DJ Jigüe presents an adaptation of his acclaimed lecture-performance Vinyl Master. Through records from his collection, he explores the musical history of Cuba and the forces that have shaped the island’s sound.
DJ Jigüe will also introduce Havana RPM, Cuba’s first international vinyl festival, and the growing vinyl movement surrounding it. Part listening session, part cultural conversation, with Jigüe as selector, storyteller and performer.
