Black Star Sound DJ Set

Roots reggae, dubplates and deep cuts from Amsterdam’s Black Star Sound, live at PHIL Café.

Black Star Sound is a roots reggae DJ crew from Amsterdam, known for selections that dig deep into Jamaican music culture. At the heart of the crew is selector Den-Den, a dedicated vinyl collector with a particular love for 7-inch singles.

His sets move through roots reggae, Jamaican riddims, exclusive dubplates and Black Star Sound’s own productions, often joined on stage by MCs and vocalists. Over the years, Black Star Sound has played across the Netherlands and internationally, including Reggae Geel in Belgium, Rototom Sunsplash in Spain and various events in Jamaica.

Black Star Sound is part of the Black Star Foundation, an organisation dedicated to promoting reggae music and artists in the Netherlands.
