Birdcage Radio Records at Sounds Haarlem

Utrecht-based talent platform, online radio station, label and DJ school Birdcage Radio Records takes over Sounds Haarlem for an afternoon and evening filled with vinyl DJs and live performances, moving through reggae, dub, funk, house, techno and beyond.

Expect a lively day of music, community and plenty of black gold, with a line-up bringing together different corners of the Dutch underground.

14:00 – Jahroen Lightning

From roots reggae and dub to funk, rocksteady and dancehall, Jahroen Lightning lets instinct, deep musical knowledge and a love of vinyl lead the way. Known for his eclectic style and carefully crafted selections, his sets move freely across genres while staying rooted in underground music culture.

Beyond the decks, Jahroen is also a member of the lo-fi punk band Geishas of Doom and part of the SoundsHaarlemLikesVinyl crew.

15:00 – BALU

Nicolas van Dedem, better known as BALU, is a Utrecht-based DJ and producer originally from Frankfurt am Main. Driven by an endless love for music and the positive experiences it can create, he has performed at venues both in the Netherlands and internationally through his collectives and record labels Artefax Movement and Birdcage Radio.

16:00 – Daniel Kors

Italian-born and Utrecht-based DJ Daniel Kors dives deep into the craft of vinyl mixing, blending tribal ’90s house with fresh cuts from the underground. A standout producer and all-round nightlife warrior, he brings energy and sharp selections to the decks every time.

17:00 – Black Widow (Live)

Through craft, imagination, curiosity and play, Black Widow transforms emotions into sound, chaos into rhythm and stories into shared experiences. Modular synths meet analogue drums in an energetic live performance.

18:00 – Soundsurreal

Michael, aka Soundsurreal, has been around the block a few times and isn’t afraid to step outside his comfort zone or pull out a record you’ve never heard before. Strap in for a feisty ride of funky basslines and punchy house music.

19:00 – Bryce Benda

Dreamy, melodic techno at its finest. Bryce Benda brings melody to electronic music, letting your mind drift while keeping things moving on a steady groove.
