Former frontman of The Sheer with new solo project.
Bart van Liemt first made a name for himself in the Dutch music scene as the frontman and chief composer of The Sheer, an award-winning band that gained national fame in 2004. This breakthrough marked the beginning of a decade filled with media appearances, Top 40 hits, sold-out tours, and performances at major festivals such as Lowlands and Pinkpop – a true success story.
His second musical chapter unfolded with Baskerville, an alternative electronic band known for their energetic live performances. With Baskerville, Bart graced stages both nationally and internationally, including appearances at Lowlands, Leeds Festival, and Sziget.
Under his indie alter ego Bade, he released the album Miracle Wave, recorded in the United Kingdom with British producer Sam Williams (known for his work with bands like Supergrass, The Go! Team, and Noisettes). The album was nominated for Best Alternative Album at the prestigious Edison Music Awards.
Bart's musical journey also led him to The Astral Twins, a collaboration with JP Hoekstra (Krezip, Danny Vera, Douwe Bob). Born on the same day in the same year – just hours apart – they decided in 2021 to release a new song together every year on their shared birthday.
Currently, Bart is working on new solo material under his own name for the first time. His highly anticipated debut single Here's to Forever will be released in May, and behind the scenes, work is underway on a corresponding EP.
