About Near Mint Haarlem

Near Mint Haarlem was founded by Rush Hour supreme digger and pioneering music journo Rogier Oostlander and renowned beauty, fashion and lifestyle editor and stylist Enith Oostlander in July 2024. Located in one of the coziest streets of Haarlem's old city centre, it offers a wide array of carefully selected records, books, mags, tapes, art, interior and other meticulously curated cultural collectables for your consideration.

Rogier Oostlander is the former editor-in-chief of BG Magazine, one of the first European magazines dedicated to electronic and beat-based music culture emerging in the early nineties, interviewing anyone from Aphex Twin and Massive Attack to J Dilla and MF Doom. He ran the influential Funky Harlem record stores and the critically acclaimed Housecult webmag in the 2000s and has written several music documentaries.

Oostlander soundtracked a string of international runway shows for brands like Diesel, 55DSL and Tommy Hilfiger.

In 2002 he released the two-part rare groove mix album 'Summer Sweetness' through Sony Music to critical acclaim, selling particularly well in Japan, later followed by a series of dark and droney techno releases on the esteemed Planet Rhythm imprint.

Additionally he helped set up record stores like 33/45 and Velvet's vinyl department and rejuvinated Rush Hour's second hand section scavenging the planet for classic material and hidden gems, cementing his worldwide reputation as a ferocious digger with an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things music.

In 2024 Oostlander helped shape Wax Poetics Collections, connecting the legendary magazine with musical icons like Bootsy Collins, Arthur Baker and Little Louie Vega in order to auction personal items from their private collections. He's also part of the awarded Atmosphere/Kollekt FM crew, creating playlists for a host of high-end brands and restaurant chains.

Enith Oostlander is a prominent beauty, fashion and lifestyle editor and stylist who has worked for a broad array of well-known magazines including ELLE, Marie Claire, Grazia, Avantgarde and L'Officiel, while doubling as a copywriter, consultant and creative director for several high end beauty and lifestyle brands. She has a keen eye for timeless interior design, ceramics and a wide array of other iconic cultural artefacts and knows how to strike the right chord as a window dresser and interior stylist.
