An afternoon with Boudewijn de Groot

27 July 2026

On Saturday afternoon of the Haarlem Vinyl Festival, we will host an exclusive listening session focusing on the work of Boudewijn de Groot. The grandmaster of the Dutch ballad will be present himself and will engage in a conversation with journalist Menno Pot about his music, his career, and the significance of his albums throughout the years.

The reason for this listening session is the reissue of his original albums, pressed on vinyl again and this time half speed mastered at Abbey Road by the legendary engineer Miles Showell, a technique that ensures unparalleled sound quality. With half speed mastering, the master is transferred to the lacquer at half the normal speed, allowing the mastering engineer to work much more precisely. The result: more detail, a wider stereo image, and a more natural, warmer sound, exactly as De Groot's music is intended to be heard.

We will announce which album we will be listening to soon. One thing is certain: this will be a special listening session for everyone who has cherished Boudewijn de Groot's lyrics and melodies for decades.
